My favorite new amp, and my favorite new pedal…the Jaguar Jr from http://www.jaguaramplification.com and the KLON Centaur. I used a Historic Gibson SG Les Paul, and my trusty white coilly cable from Bullet cables. The Jag Jr. is so bitchin…112 combo in Viking Purple…tone for days…wish I could crank it up for the demo, but my camera will not let me…it gets all distored and if I turn it up…so just imagine the tonal possibilities of this little 17 watt monster! Oh…and the Klon is pretty too!

Assorted bits of AEROSMITH (”Toys In The Attic”), UFO (”Natural Thing”), CHEAP TRICK (”High Roller”, “Elo Kiddies”), BUDGIE (”In For The Kill”) and ZZ TOP (”Brown Sugar”) via my Les Paul and Fargen Mighty-Plex. This is a stock 2003 model without the upgrades and is running JJ EL34 and 12AX7 tubes. The volumes are both at 3 O’Clock and the amp is going into a Marshall 4×12 slant cabinet with Celestion 25 watt Greenback reissue speakers. The echo unit in the background is only performing the function of sitting quietly in the background. http://www.myspace.com/werewolfafro

A quick improvisational blues demo of the Park 45 top mount head by Marshall, say mid 60’s? One pedal used halfway through for a bit of boost but the rest is how the amp sounds…except for the reverb on the desk.

Up for sale is this vintage Gibson Tube guitar amp. The listing is here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120223598523&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=002 I am playing my Lotus strat copy through it. I am using a noise gate to try to quiet down the single coils, but as you can see that didn’t work out too good.

See how years of exposure to light has faded the finish of a Les Paul Junior. The same thing has happened to older Les Paul Standards – where the red fades away and “cherry” sunburst becomes “ice tea” sunburst.
