I am reviewing the Takamine EG523sc acoustic electric guitar. The intro and exitlude is “Catching the Light” by Antoine Dufour. It is a really good guitar.

This is an amazing Gibson Country Western from 1957. It is the loudest acoustic I have heard in a very long time.

I have a PRS Santana SE I got in 2001. It’s vintage cherry in color and is in very good condition.

Doebz,

That guitar is worth about $300-400 in trade. Check ebay for guitar values of the one you want to trade it for.

Good Luck,
John

Made in Italy by Crucianelli.. It was unknown to me when I made the video…
A low-end guitar that works nice for bottleneck style playing!
Great sustain, put a PU on this one and it’ll be a mean slider..

i habe this 12 string vintage flamus guitar and its from the 1970’s and it has some tints and i could cleen it up and just wanted to know how much it is worth?

I think you mean Framus. It’s not worth much. They were always low-end guitars and the 70’s were a low point for lots of manufacturers. I’m guessing it was made in Japan back when they were churning out lots of mediocre guitars. It’s worth maybe $100 – $150 tops assuming it’s in good, playable shape with decent action.

Edited to add: Looks like they were made in Germany. Better, but still not considered high quality.

Another of my overhauled Harmony Sovereign guitars. This one is weird. It has the double pickguard and pin bridge of the fancy models but it’s labeled “LTD” Has anyone ever heard of this “brand” or was it a custom shop model? Private label?Hard to say. These are really nice guitars on the vintage market. Solid Honduran mahogany back and sides. Solid spruce top. Brazilian rosewood fretboard and bridge.
I replaced the internal ladder bracing with standard X bracing.. Refinished the back and sides with French polish. I also installed a nice internal pickup. Built in the USA. The poor man’s Martin D-18.
The intro to Stairway to Heaven was played on this model by Jimmy Page. If you see one of these babies on Ebay snap it up…unless I see it first. I own SIX of these. They also showed up under the Silvertone and Kay brand. They were all made at the same factory in Chicago USA until 1974 when they went out of business. I think they are reissuing the Harmony brand electric models..but no way will they be able to reissue the acoustics. Most of the ingredients used are now extinct or prohibitively expensive…Like the Brazilian rosewood, Honduran mahogany, shellac finish and hide glue…I love these guitars!
