here is a new “VS” guitar battle type thing. but there are a few differences in this one. for starters, i actually recorded a whole backing track and laid down the audio for solos afterwards just like my little chaos songs. also, to clarify. the Les Paul was used in recording the Rhythm parts of the whole song and i figured i’d use it to show the last parts of the song even though i used all 3 during that part. each “solo” part was played over the same tracking and length etc. any questions just ask. oh and yeah, my dad walks in during the Explorer part haha. after 280 or so videos, he finally interupted me.

Add &fmt=18 to the end of the URL to hear STEREO!!

Stormy Monday played on my old Hagstrom Swede guitar that I bought new in 1981. This guitar has the 498T/490R pickups from my Les Paul.
I have since had the serial number of this guitar verified and it was made late 78 or early 1979.

Set to the classic tune of Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top, these classic rivals square off in an epic shred-fest to determine which Gibson model truly is the axe of rock.

This is just for fun. A jam session made of improv solos just to show the differences between each guitar.

I got the backing track from guitarbt.com

I have no tabs for this, because it is mainly improv.

Guitars:
Gibson Explorer (Natural, Gold Hardware, 2006)

Gibson Les Paul Studio (Heritage Cherry, Chrome Hardware, 2007)

Enjoy!

http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/Guitars/Electric_Guitars/Electric_Guitars/p7489.aspx It’s generally considered that Fender electric guitars get cooler with age, you’ll never find players such as John Mayer, Dave Gilmore or John Frusciante playing a brand spanking new strat or tele…older Fenders tend to wear in rather than wear out as they age, developing their own personality over the years of gigging, feeling more comfortable and looking cooler than when they were brand new.

Unfortunately, most of us don’t have the money to buy a real vintage guitar without selling a kidney, that’s why Fender have introduced the Road Worn series guitars. Using aging techniques based on the processes used on Fender’s Custom Shop Relic guitars, the Road Worn series offers more affordable, brilliantly pre-aged, realistic vintage aged instruments.

This guitar is the Fender Road Worn 60’s Stratocaster in 3-Tone Sunburst. Designed around the original 1960s specs, this Mexican made guitar features a pre-worn/beaten up finish on an alder body and maple neck, 3-ply aged scratchplate and vintage, pre-aged hardware. Classic Stratocaster tones are delivered from Fender’s hotter Tex-Mex pickups whilst the rosewood fingerboard features nice big modern 6105 style frets. The nitrocellulose finish will wear in unlike a polyester finish which just chips and is too hard to wear in. The Road Worn guitars will look even better with a couple of years playing in them and i must say the relic job is top notch, the wear is just right and look and feel even better in the flesh.

The Fender Road Worn 60’s Strat offers awesome classic looks and that sought after vintage feel whilst still delivering the performance expected from a modern guitar…without being too much of a strain on your wallet!

Played through a Fender Blues Junior Combo

and mic’ed up with a SM57 straight into the desk.
Thanks to Groover for coming down to the store for a jam !!

Squier Vintage Modified Jazz fretless – short demo. This is a slice of me improvising. It’s from “Great guitars for under $200 bucks,” a series reviewing guitars & basses costing $150-$350, that aren’t crappy. Please leave a comment, rate it (5 stars is good) or ask question and hopefully we artists can dialog, and the manufacturers listen – the good ones do.

I made this video to help people choose and maintain a good used (even new as sometimes they have issues too) 12 string acoustic guitar. Most salespeople won’t tell you any of this stuff…some don’t know it, some won’t take the time, some are trying to sell you a guitar with issues…sales in most stores is just a numbers game…sell the most at the most profit…few take the time to actually listen to what the customer wants (and can afford) and focus only on what they have and what makes the most for them. This video should help you avoid a guitar with issues and/or help you keep your guitar from developing any. If I forgot anything, just ask…

Thanks for watching and feel free to rate it and leave comments!

Thanks again for watching!

My favorite new amp, and my favorite new pedal…the Jaguar Jr from http://www.jaguaramplification.com and the KLON Centaur. I used a Historic Gibson SG Les Paul, and my trusty white coilly cable from Bullet cables. The Jag Jr. is so bitchin…112 combo in Viking Purple…tone for days…wish I could crank it up for the demo, but my camera will not let me…it gets all distored and if I turn it up…so just imagine the tonal possibilities of this little 17 watt monster! Oh…and the Klon is pretty too!
